Join Pastor Peter as he continues his study through the book of Genesis. In chapter 23 we are introduced to the first funeral in scripture and we see how Abraham dealt with the grief and mourning of his wife’s death. In this lesson we are able to consider the value of grief even today. Have a listen; you will be blessed. “There’s not a lot of fluff in scripture; it’s important to wonder why the author focused on these details.” -Pastor Peter “Death is the great transition between this life and the life to come.” -Pastor Peter “This chapter is about how Jews (or now Christians) our to deal with death.” -Pastor Peter “People are less prepared than ever before to deal with death today.” -Pastor Peter “We want to be a people who lives in the shadow of eternity.” -Pastor Peter “If death is going be unexpected then we should live in light of that.” -Pastor Peter “Each second you’re given is ifitnely valuable.” -Pastor Peter “Hope is a Christian virtue; it’s only good when it can be realized.” -Pastor Peter “The things you do in your life matters.” -Pastor Peter “The only way afterlife is significant is if your body comes with you.” -Pastor Peter James 4, Psalm 90, 2 Corinthians 5, 1 Corinthians 15, Ecclesaistes 9, 1 Corinthians 3, Psalm 116, Matthew 5, Ecclesiastes 7, Matthew 13 #grief #mourning #bible #calvarychapel #calvarymarana #Abraham #Sarah #burial #funeral #marana #maranaaz #tucson #hope #love
