Numbers 23-24: Balaam’s Prophecies

Join Pastor Peter as we continue our study through the book of Numbers. As we talked about last week, Balaam is actually a pretty ambiguous figure. He is a prophet of God, but he practices sorcery. He is an example of submitting to the will of God over ambition in the last chapter as well as the next two, but he later succumbs to his ambition and leads the Israelites into idolatry. So when this chapter picks up, we see that Balaam is sacrificing to God before he prophecies over the nation of Israel. The highlight of Balaam’s prophecy is that as he seeks the will of God, he is brought to see the ministry of Christ. This is always the case.
