Numbers 25- The Plague of Lust

Join Pastor Peter as we continue our study through the book of Numbers. After seeing Balaam stand up to the greed and corruption of the king of Moab and see a glimpse of the future ministry of Christ, now we are back to seeing another failure for Israel. And, most unfortunately, the Israelites’ fall is not self-inflicted, but they succumbed to a temptation orchestrated by the very man who blessed them in the previous chapter, Balaam. In order to stop the plague of sin that was wiping out the nation, blood had to be spilled. This is exactly what Christ did for us. Instead of shedding our blood though, Christ chose to shed His own. He was treated as a sinner and through His sacrifice we are made whole and purged of the destructive nature of our own sin. What does God’s word have to say?
